Student Healing Workshops

These group experiences can be tailored to meet the needs of an individual class, combined classes or large groups and will be designed with the age, needs and abilities of the students in mind. Subjects may include: Listening across ethnic and cultural differences, class conflicts relating to issues of class, gender, race, faith or sexual orientation and building a more inclusive classroom and/or school community. All activities will be structured to foster empathetic listening, individual and group esteem as well as emotional and spiritual wellness.

Staff Development: Managing Conflict

These sessions can be tailored to the needs and time restraints of any staff or learning community. The intent is to support educators in their work with students, particularly in challenging situations. Conflict mediation strategies will be shared and participants will be guided through simulations that mirror common challenges that educators encounter. These sessions aim to build up teacher belief and confidence in their own brilliance and innate ability to deal with challenges.

Listening to the Other: Widening the Circle

These sessions can be tailored to the size, needs and time restraints of any organization. The strategies taught in these sessions can be applied to workplace conflict, interactions with clients, or to community and/or global conflicts of interest to the organization. A variety of approaches will be used to reach the varied interests, learning styles and emotional comfort level of the group members.

Israel/Palestine: A Listening Approach

These sessions can be tailored to the size, needs and time restraints of any organization. The facilitator’s academic studies related to Israel/Palestine and the Israeli/Palestinian conflict will be used as a guidepost for the sessions. This work is designed especially for groups interested in an approach to the conflict based on share histories and traumas and how groups with differing, beliefs, experiences and understandings may begin to listen to the Other differently. These sessions are designed to begin to carve out a share move forward rather than propose a specific path towards ending the conflict.
